Weekends

We welcome you all year round to come and spend a weekend surrounded by nature, with family or friends.

With 3 yurts available, we can accommodate up to 3 families at a time , each with their own private space in their own yurt.

Family weekends

If parents wish to go on a day trip (visiting wineries, picturesque villages, hiking...), children can stay at La Mandorla to do activities (taking care of animals, building huts, making ribbons, picking seasonal fruit, etc.).

Everyone gathers in the evening for a festive meal and in the morning to share a breakfast of homemade bread and jams.

A weekend in La Mandorla is an opportunity to breathe fresh air, to take a short break from the fast-paced world , and to discover a different way of life, close to traditional villages that thrive in happy simplicity.

As this is also our home, and we need to prepare the space as best as possible to welcome you, we prefer that you make your reservations at least 2 days in advance and that you can stay a minimum of 2 nights.
That said, our organization is flexible and we can adapt to your needs.
Please inform us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your stay.

Do you want to see the place?

What to do in each season of the year?

The most wonderful thing can happen to you:

Wildflowers all around! Poppies, rockroses, daisies, lavender, broom, old roses! ... May is a true festival of colors and fragrances. Life blossoms in all its forms, with a multitude of pollinating insects, birds, and small wild animals...

It's a great time to learn about botany or simply take a walk under the clouds and sunshine. It's also the time of year when babies are born on the farm: goats, chicks, bunnies—we're surrounded by baby animals...

If the days are pleasant and warm, you can start dipping your toes in the crystal-clear waters of the Siurana or Montsant rivers...

Which can be a little annoying:

Spring in Catalonia is capricious, and it is not uncommon for it to rain for several days in a row or for the skies to be gray and cloudy.

If torrential rain is forecast, it's best to cancel your weekend getaway... Of course, everything has its charm, and the rain under the yurt is part of the adventure (the drops drum on the canvas as we chat over tea by the fire, letting the downpour pass), but it might not be what you're looking for...

Flowers mean pollen, so watch out for allergies!

In summer, we only welcome families in June and September. July and August are reserved for children's camps.

The best you can hope for:

Long, sunny days with hours of rest on the west-facing terrace overlooking the cliffs of Montsant.

Excursions to the Siurana River and swimming in the waterfalls and natural pools.

Walks around the Siurana reservoir, snacks in the shade of the terraces in the village of Cornudella, naps under the trees, starry nights still quite cool!

Which might be a little awkward:

Tall grass, warm temperatures, it's the insects' favorite season... To protect yourself: strong mosquito repellent, a few drops of tea tree essential oil in your hair and clothes, long pants and sleeves in the afternoon, mosquito net at night.

Wonderful things can happen:

Walks among the vibrant colors of the vine leaves and the maple trees on the slopes of Montsant; the soft light of long sunsets; rides by donkey and cart...

Harvest festival (1st weekend of September) in the decorated village of Poboleda.

A simple and picturesque main festival in the small village of Arbolí (1st weekend of October); gathering of blackberries, figs, wild grapes, quinces, hazelnuts, almonds, etc...

Sometimes, if the rains have been plentiful, our forest is covered with mushrooms of all colors, including the delicious Rovellons and Fredolics..

Which can be a little annoying:

Torrential rains sometimes occur in October (usually well predicted by meteorologists), and temperatures drop at night and in the mornings in November, although the sun provides good warmth during the day.

However, yurts heat up well with butane or wood-burning stoves, and when the fire goes out at night, everyone is already warm under their blankets. You just have to light the stove again first thing in the morning to get dressed in the warmth!

The most wonderful thing can happen to you:

It is the ideal time to take long excursions through the Montsant massif (impossible in summer due to the high temperatures), destination "Clot del Cirer", "Toll de l'Ou", "Els Ventadors", "Congost de Fragerau", to discover these sublime landscapes, the result of the erosion of time and an extraordinary geological modeling.

It is also the ideal season for sport climbing, as climbers from all over the world flock to the cliffs of Siurana to attempt some of the world's most challenging routes.

Blue skies, bright lights, frosty mornings where everything seems adorned with crystals, a sun that truly warms at midday... The "winter spring" with almond trees in bloom, covered in white and pink flowers from the end of February, whose petals rain down when the wind stirs them... Warm evenings around the fire, infusions of wild herbs and pastries...

Which might be a little awkward:

The days are short and night falls quickly... Depending on the year, the Priorat region can be shrouded in fog. So you have to seek the sun at higher altitudes. Dry cold in the afternoons and mornings, but bearable...
